I haven't upload anithing in a while, so i think this little personal project would be great for start uploading stuff again.
This little world figurine was made cause i was investigating about 3d printing services and found this page where you can upload your models and they print them for you (and even make a "shop" where you put your models and they sale them i guess). The bad part, is i didn't have a model that could be printed in 3d, so i made this one for trying that.
This model is a little world desk decoration, influensed by all the steampunk stuff i've seen the last few days. The trick to modeling for 3d printing, is that you can't use bump maps, and everything have to be one big mesh... so this is my first try at making that kind of tecnique. I'll try to upload later a tuntable view of the model, but it depends on the render times.

Model Made in 3d max 9, some zbrush 4, Render with MR + FG, Final Edit PS CS2

The 3d Model for printing can be seen (and order) here: [link] (small one 6cm x 6cm or 2.4in x 2.4in) and [link] (bigger one 9.7 x 9.7cm or 3.8 x 3.8in)

beautiful , with a little more reflection it would be perfect ... now it looks more plastic than metal ...

Thanks!! I guess your right that it lacks some reflection, so for the turntable version i'll add more reflect value... and maybe stuff to be reflected too, 'cause the scene is empty.
